Garment care.

The lowest-impact care is often the simplest: wash only when needed, use cool water and avoid unnecessary tumble drying. Always follow the care label first.

Cotton and jersey

Wash cold with similar colours, preferably inside out. Reshape after washing and line dry to reduce shrinkage and print wear.

Denim

Wash sparingly and inside out. Indigo can transfer, especially when new, so keep it away from light upholstery and wash separately at first.

Knitwear

Air between wears. Hand wash or use a gentle cycle only where the label allows, then reshape and dry flat. Store folded rather than on a hanger.

Linen and tailored blends

Wash linen cool and accept its natural creasing, or steam lightly. Hang tailored trousers after wear and use a low-temperature steam rather than repeated washing.
